• 2023-2024 School Year

    Dear Student/Parent/Guardian:

Welcome to Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT), where student success is our first priority.  You have made an excellent decision in selecting and continuing to develop a career pathway in our Dental Occupations Program.  We are here to assist you in achieving your goals by providing a supportive environment for high-quality education.

Below is a list of items you will need to be successful:

    1. Health History
    2. Proof of Hepatitis B vaccine (new students only, form enclosed)
    3. Uniform (see enclosed)
    4. Stationary Supplies (see attached list)
    5. Student Activity Fee (paid via PowerSchool Information Registration)

The State of Pennsylvania mandates that a physical with proof of related immunizations and vaccinations is kept on file with the school for participation in the program.  Please be advised that you must submit the above forms by August 29, 2023.  Failure to comply with this will jeopardize your participation in the program.

The goal of this program is to provide students with the dental education required to work in a student run clinic, find and participate in job opportunities during school and after graduation, and access to

College resources / to prepare to apply to college for those who want to pursue Dental Hygiene, Expanded Functions Dental Assisting, or pre-dental undergraduate degrees.

It is my goal to help every student succeed in this program, but keep in mind that their success depends completely upon the effort the student puts into it. I will prepare and expect all students to go out on job shadows and cooperative educational job experiences; this is the best way for students to experience the dental profession and all the careers available to them. Students should consider getting a driver's license when they are eligible and be prepared for national and state licensing exams and certifications during their time at MBIT. Dentistry is a career that requires interaction with the public and students will need to be comfortable with this type of social interaction while participating in the MBIT Dental Occupations Program.

During the school year, I am available to students for any questions and feedback during school hours. Outside of school hours, the best way to contact me is via email at cmidgett@mbit.org, which I check periodically throughout the day.  I can be reached via telephone at 215-343-2480, ext. 213.

Once you receive your login, please complete the necessary student information, emergency contact information and invoice payment PowerSchool Information Registration System by August 31, 2023. Students will not be permitted to participate in their labs until all forms are handed in. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.

Your success at MBIT is our success.   I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

    Sincerely,

Ms. Cynthia Midgett, M.Ed., BSDH, RDH, CDA, PHDHP
