    Welcome to Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT), where your son’s or daughter’s success is our priority.  You have made an excellent decision in selecting and developing a career pathway in our Medical & Health Professions Program.  We are here to assist you in achieving your goals by providing a supportive environment for high-quality education.

     

    Below is a list of items you will need in level 100 to be successful:

    1. Uniform Top and Bottom – to be purchased directly from the manufacturer – see instructions below for online ordering and/or attached order form. 

    2. Sneakers– To be worn daily in class and laboratory setting

    3. Stationery Supplies (see enclosed list)

    4. Student Activity Fee 

    5. Workbook 

    6. Watch with second hand (purchased by individual).

    1. Uniforms should be ordered by July 18th to ensure timely delivery. 

     

    Students are required to be in full uniform by September 30th.  Full uniforms are required to participate in the lab activities. 

     

    Plans are being finalized for various activities within the program.  The details will be shared with you in September. Remember that your ideas are always appreciated.  

     

    Please complete the necessary student information, emergency contact information and invoice payment via the PowerSchool Information Registration System by August 31, 2024.     Dear Returning 200 Level Medical & Health Professions Student and Parent/Guardian:

     

    Welcome back to Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT). We are here to assist you in achieving your goals by providing a supportive environment for high-quality education.  Enclosed is health information that you will need to start the year on a positive note.

     

    Below is a list of items that are required to participate in the Medical & Health Professions program:

    1. *Physical Exam and Vaccination History (Form Enclosed)

      1. Including proof of receiving full series of Hepatitis B vaccines.  

      2. 2-Step Tuberculin Skin Testing (Two tests/two readings)

      3. Current Influenza Vaccine (Flu Shot, provide own documentation)

      4. Current COVID-19 Vaccine (provide copies of front and back of vaccination card with date of immunization) Please be advised that Abington/Jefferson Hospital does not allow exemptions for any required vaccinations including both COVID and Influenza. Students who do not have ALL the required vaccinations will not be permitted to participate in the clinical experience.

    2. Health History (Completed via PowerSchool Information Registration System)

    3. Three forms from Abington/Jefferson:

      1. Criminal Record Authorization

      2. Occupational Health Screening Form

      3. Student Volunteer Application

    4. *Urine Drug Screening (Form Enclosed)

    6. Non-canvas, black clinic shoes or black leather sneakers – appropriate for clinical setting. To be worn exclusively during clinical.

    The state of Pennsylvania and/or our clinical affiliation sites mandate that a physical, with proof of related immunizations and vaccinations, urine drug screen and the request for criminal checks are kept on file with the school for participation in clinical. Students who elect not to receive the COVID-19 vaccination will not be penalized, and will be provided an alternative assignment to complete during the designated clinical period. Students must complete and submit all required documentation, by September 27, 2024, to participate in clinical rotations. Again, COVID-19 vaccination proof must be submitted no later than September 27, 2024. Proof of COVID-19 vaccine can be emailed to studentservices@mbit.org

    *** Students must complete and submit all required documentation, by the due date, in order to participate in clinical rotations.

     

    Please complete the necessary emergency contact information, health history, media, and internet permissions, etc. and invoice payment via the PowerSchool Information Registration System by August 31, 2024. Students will not be permitted to participate in their labs until all forms are completed. Failure to comply with dress code or submission of forms will result in the loss of your clinical experience for the entire school year.

    Clearances-It is essential you watch the mail for these clearances.  It is very easy for them to be overlooked as junk mail.  Please secure them in a safe place for the first day of school.

     

    Child Abuse Clearance is required for clinical.  Per our clinical site policies, they will NOT accept the volunteer clearance. Please make sure you check the appropriate boxes. (Do not check volunteer box).
