    Dear Student and Parent/ Guardian:

     

    Welcome to Middle Bucks Institute of Technology (MBIT), where student success is our first priority. You have made an excellent decision in selecting a career path in our Residential Construction Carpentry Program. We are here to assist you in achieving your goals by providing a supportive environment for high-quality education.

     

    There are several requirements we ask the student to meet which will aid the student in the necessary class and laboratory activities; these are:

    1. White three-ring (2-3 inch) binder/notebook with a rigid back, clear plastic cover with front cover slide-in inserts.

    2. One pack or set of tab dividers (10 per pack).

    3. Personal Hand Tools: 20 oz. rip claw hammer, 25’ tape measure, speed square, combination square, chalk line, utility knife, 6 in 1 screwdriver, ¼”, ½” and ¾” chisels, medium or large nailset, yellow handle metal snips, cat’s paw and carpenter’s pencils.

    4. Tool Belt with two pouches and a hammer holder

    5. Tool Bag large enough to hold your tool belt and tools (24” bags work well)

    6. Sturdy work shoes only (can be low or high top). Sneakers, sandals and dress shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.

    7. Two (2) MBIT Residential Construction Carpentry shirts to be purchased from the school store.

    8. One (1) MBIT Residential Construction Carpentry Sweatshirt also purchased from the school store.

    9. Jeans, light tan or khaki work pants (can be purchased at most local department stores).

     

    All MBIT students are required to wear a uniform daily.  If students do not have the required apparel, they will NOT be permitted to participate in the classroom activities, which will result in a zero on their daily assessment. Uniforms for the program can be purchased at www.mbitschoolstore.com.  The website will specify what is required and recommended for purchase. Uniforms should be ordered no later than August 14th so students will have them for the first week of school. Students will receive their uniform orders in their designated classroom. 

     

    When school begins, your child will receive a Student Handbook explaining our school rules. Our prime concern is the safety of your child and that we provide an atmosphere that is conducive to optimal learning and teaching.





    Please assist your child in acquiring the required materials and supplies by August 29, 2022.

     

    Once you receive notification, please complete the necessary student information, emergency forms and invoice payment via PowerSchool Parent Portal by August 28, 2022. Students will not be permitted to participate in their labs until all forms are completed. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
