SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA's mission is to help its members become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA serves more than 300,000 students and instructors annually. The organization has 13,000 school chapters in 54 state and territorial associations. More than 14,500 instructors and administrators are professional members of SkillsUSA. SkillsUSA is an applied method of instruction for preparing America’s high performance workers in public career and technical programs. It provides quality education experiences for students in leadership, teamwork, citizenship and character development. It builds and reinforces self-confidence, work attitudes and communications skills. It emphasizes total quality at work—high ethical standards, superior work skills, life-long education, and pride in the dignity of work. SkillsUSA also promotes understanding of the free-enterprise system and involvement in community service.
HOSA is the national technical student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA is endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership. This organization provides students opportunities to develop leadership responsibilities, professional competencies, citizenship responsibilities, personal growth and health career awareness.
The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) was established in 1984 to recognize outstanding career and technical students for their academic and technical success. Over the years, educators have seen NTHS at work, lifting up students, advancing excellence in career and technical education, and raising the bar for student achievement. The NTHS carries out its mission to lift up and publicly recognize young men and women committed to excellence, values, courage, and achievement. The NTHS builds a strong, positive image in their local community and has seen the difference NTHS has made for their students and programs.
The National FFA Organization envisions a future in which all agricultural education students will discover their passion in life and build on that insight to chart the course for their educations, career and personal future. Agricultural Education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems. FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. FFA is an integral part of our Practical Environmental Landscaping program.
http://www.pbaendorsedtrade.org The Secondary Endorsed Trade Program is a program developed by the Pennsylvania Builders Association (PBA) - in collaboration with educators, local builders associations and other industry stakeholders - to give high school graduates more credibility in the job market and provide builders with a highly skilled workforce. The organization provides opportunities for students to interact with business professionals, enter various competitions relevant to their program, and give back to the community through service projects. An added benefit to students, is the opportunity to earn a PBA Skills Certificate upon achieving a competent, or higher, score on the Pennsylvania's Occupational Competency Test. PBA is an integral component of our Construction Carpentry, Electrical and Network Cabling, and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning programs.
