Human Services Career Pathway
The Public Safety program is designed to prepare students for careers in four broad areas of public safety; law enforcement; fire protection, emergency health services, and security and loss prevention. Students will study and perform skills in the following topics: Safety, Criminal Justice System, Law Enforcement, Private and Homeland Security, Corrections, Communications, Incident Command, Firefighting, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Materials and Defensive Techniques. Through report writing and information retrieval, students will apply and refine their communication and computer skills while working on their personal development skills. The curriculum will include discussion and case studies on professionalism, ethics, cultural diversity, and conflict resolution. Classroom and laboratory experiences will be held at both MBIT and the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center. This program provides an excellent foundation from which to pursue a two- or four-year college degree and ultimately a career in public safety.
